Tsukihime is my favorite work by TYPE-MOON, so I couldn't allow there to be a FS/N thread and no Tsukihime thread here. Now I have to think of something to put in it....
So, who is your favorite heroine?
My favorite heroine is Arcueid, but I find I like her slightly better in Ciel's route than I do in her own (and not just because of Ceil's good ending!). She was such a fresh character to me. Before reading Tsukihime, I thought vampires were kind of childish, the kind of thing you couldn't spin into a good story to save your life. Tsukihime completely changed my opinion. The world that Kinoko Nasu created felt so right to me: rich, imaginative, cool, and yet relatable, with vampires that didn't remind me of Blade or some B horror movie to boot!
Arcueid was the perfect blend of sweet and deadly, and the way she was introduced was perfect. I did not see the story going that route when I first started it, or even when Shiki killed her. I thought the story was going to turn into one of Shiki wrestling with the consequences of being a killer not in control of himself, which I guess wasn't entirely off considering the Far-Side routes, so I found the vampire twist to be rather surprising and intriguing. It was foreshadowed just enough to be credible while still coming out of left field. It worked for me, and if you're here reading this, I can only assume it worked for you too.
Anyway, that's enough for me. I hope to see some follow-up replies at some point.
